Provolone cheese baked with toasted bread special

This recipe is so easy to prepare but the explosion of flavours that I would propose to you is going to be unexpected. In just one word Awesome!

In previous recipes I have explained how to prepare the provolone cheese in the oven and in this recipe we have prepared more or less the same, but with a few tweaks that I think I can be interesting and that we have been happy at home.

For example, the homemade tomato sauce we exchange it for a tomato sauce pomodoro from Lidl, we tested it before to see what it was and impressive. With the mixture of the provolone cheese in the oven has been sensational.

Ingredients:

  • A slice of provolone cheese
  • 4 tablespoons of tomato sauce pomodoro
  • Fresh basil
  • Fresh oregano
  • Ground pepper
  • Slices of bread
  • Oil spicy home*
    • A sprig of rosemary
    • 2 cloves of garlic
    • 2 chillies
    • 5 balls of black pepper
    • 1 bay leaf
    • 250 ml extra virgin olive Oil

Preparation:

If you want to make the pomodoro sauce at home, it is vital that you always use red tomatoes very ripe to get that special flavor and, if you have wine barolo at home, take a little bit to give it that Italian feel.

Put the oven to preheat to a temperature of 220 degrees.

In a casserole put tablespoons of the tomato sauce, put a slice of provolone cheese on top and espolvoreáis with oregano and chopped fresh basil, added a bit of ground pepper over the top.

Cut some slices of bread either fresh or hard, what you have at home, which are some slices of little more than a centimeter thick and keep it in the rack of the oven along with the pot of provolone cheese. The idea is to toast them and that they are nice and crunchy.

In 10 or 15 minutes is usually prepared on both the dish and the bread well toasted. We have had a squirt of oil in each one of the slices of bread that he has been given a spicy touch, with the crisp and flavor of the provolone cheese has been impressive.

*This oil is spicy it is an inspiration which put you at the restaurant Ginos, we do not know the amounts, but we loved it there so we tried to do it at home. In a pot of olive oil 250 ml add all the ingredients that I alluded to above and let it sit for a month, there is mixed the flavors and odors to result in something impressive. You can add more or less of these ingredients depending on how strong and intense you will want it to taste.
